Hong Kong International Furniture Fair

The Hong Kong International Furniture Fair is organised jointly by the TDC and Kenfair International Limited.

The fair displays a wide selection of furniture from around the world. Exhibits include indoor furniture, outdoor furniture, office furniture, parts and accessories for furniture, furniture for contract business, smart-home, smart-office solutions, designer furniture, ethnic furniture and antique furniture.

About 170 exhibitors from Hong Kong, Australia, the Chinese Mainland, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the US and Vietnam are taking part in this fair.

A highlight of the fair is the IGLOO Zone. The word IGLOD refers the icehouses in which Eskimos live. It is also hailed as a masterpiece of architecture that symbolises wisdom and creativity. Stylish and innovative furniture from Hong Kong companies such as OVO Limited, Barrie Ho Collections Ltd., Jackie Chan Design Ltd., as well as Maruni Wood Industry Inc. from Japan, and Contemporary Australian Design from Australia are on display in this zone.

The organisers have already confirmed 35 missions of over 1,100 buyers to visit the fair, such as Canadian Tire Corporation and Cantire (China) Limited, Mitre 10 from New Zealand.

Seminars are also held during fair including "Sales Channels, Licensing & Franchising of the Furniture Industry in the Chinese Mainland", “Design Concept on Japan Furniture” and "Latest Furniture Trend - Design, Colour & Raw Materials".

In the first eight months of 2006, Hong Kong exported a total of US 336 million worth of furniture and parts to the world.
